N’GINS Program: Pioneering a New Generation of Nutraceutical Ingredients

N'GINS program

The N’GINS program, which stands for “Nouvelle Génération d’Ingrédients Nutraceutique Santé” or “New Generation of Health Nutraceutical Ingredients,” aims to introduce a new range of environmentally friendly, “nature-identical” polyphenols to the dietary supplement market. These new polyphenols target high-growth market segments, particularly in America, Asia, and Europe.

Plant Advanced Technologies (PAT), a company listed on Euronext Growth™- Paris (ISIN: FR0010785790 – Mnemonic: ALPAT), is industrializing the production of this new generation of dietary supplements using metabolic engineering technologies through its subsidiary Cellengo. Fytexia, a subsidiary of ABF Ingredients (ABFI) and part of Associated British Foods plc, is a company that develops functional ingredients supported by rigorous scientific approaches, ranging from characterization to clinical studies, serving the dietary supplement industry.

Fytexia, a market leader in the polyphenol category, collaborates with a global network of scientific researchers and opinion leaders to provide functional ingredients backed by the strictest scientific evidence, from the characterization of active compounds to the demonstration of their benefits in clinical interventions. Fytexia’s ingredients are included in the formulations of advanced nutraceutical products to improve well-being and reduce health risk factors for consumers worldwide. The company operates globally, with nutraceutical solutions available in over 35 countries.

Through the N’GINS program, Fytexia, PAT, and Cellengo aim to become critical players in producing high nutritional phenolic compounds using breakthrough technologies, actively strengthening the French bioeconomic sector in biotechnology and nutrition.

The N’GINS program is a winner of the “Food Needs of Tomorrow” call for projects supported by the France 2030 program with a total budget of approximately €4.8 million.

France 2030 is a government initiative designed to accelerate support for food tech startups by launching a call for projects within the 4th Future Investment Program (PIA4) framework. With a budget of €110 million over five years (2021-2025), this call for projects aims to support companies in developing innovative solutions in areas such as developing healthier, more sustainable foods that meet consumer expectations and implementing innovative processes using new technologies.

Matthieu Arguillère, President of Fytexia, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with PAT and Cellengo to develop tomorrow’s ingredients and continue their growth by strengthening their skills and expertise. He sees the support of France 2030 as an opportunity to create an international leader in polyphenols.

Jean-Paul Fèvre, President of PAT and Cellengo, is proud of the strategic partnership with Fytexia, a recognized expert in the nutraceutical field, which will enable the successful introduction of high-value health assets from the new generation to the market.
