Introduction of AI Precision Spraying in Australia

Greeneye Technology, an innovator in precision spraying technology, today announced its first field trials outside the United States through a strategic partnership with Croplands, an Australian leader in spray equipment. The trials, set to begin in 2025, aim to test the effectiveness of Greeneye’s AI-enabled precision spraying system in Australian agriculture, specifically for post-emergence applications on key crops like canola and cereals.

Croplands: A Trusted Australian Partner

Headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, Croplands has a significant footprint across the country and has led the distribution of infrared-based precision spraying systems for pre-emergence applications. Croplands has supported nearly a thousand farmers in reducing chemical usage, especially during pre-emergence stages. Steve Norton, Portfolio Manager at Croplands, emphasized the company’s commitment to next-generation solutions: “Croplands’ mission is to provide our customers with access to cutting-edge technologies that drive ROI potential and productivity. We are now looking to the next generation of precision spraying technology to unlock its full potential by offering solutions that can be utilized during both pre- and post-emergence treatment.”

After an extensive review, Croplands selected Greeneye’s system, attracted by its proven track record in the U.S., its machine-agnostic design that allows retrofitting onto existing sprayers, and its dual tank/line feature that differentiates between residual and non-residual herbicides, thus optimizing efficiency.

A Breakthrough in Weed Control Technology

Greeneye’s technology, first launched commercially in the U.S. in 2022, is redefining weed control. Equipped with high-resolution cameras and proprietary AI, the system detects and classifies weeds at 40 frames per second, enabling precise spraying with minimal herbicide waste. This rapid detection system operates at commercial speeds of 15 mph, making it as productive as conventional broadcast methods. According to Greeneye CEO Nadav Bocher: “We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Croplands, a true visionary in the ag space that shares our mission to leverage innovative technology to enhance farming outcomes and protect the environment. Croplands has established itself as a leader in driving mainstream adoption of precision spraying technology, and it has an expansive network in place to facilitate a rapid roll-out.”
